How to Tie the Improved clinch knot

Six short steps. Wet the line before you cinch it down and give it a firm tug to test it.

1. Thread 5-6 inches of line through the eye (3 inches for light line).
2. Wrap the tag end around the main line: 5-7 turns for 10 lb or less, 4 turns for 20-40 lb, 3 turns above 40 lb.
3. Bring the tag end back through the small loop next to the eye.
4. Pass the tag end through the large loop formed above the first loop.
5. Wet the knot and slowly pull the main line so the wraps tighten neatly.
6. Trim the tail close to the coils.
